The Beautiful Game?

Oh yes, it’s that time again when thousands of Britain’s women become football widows and grown men cry because England conceded against America in their first game which is disastrous because , quote, “No one in America cares about football so they shouldn’t win, we should”

England goalkeeper Rob Green took his eye off the ball for a split second and suddenly every England fan had an expert opinion; “drop him, he’s s**t” I heard one drunken fan shout. I would like to see him try to do better, especially since he could barely stand up!

One of the big problems with Great Britain is that our nation is great when it comes to showing our support for the sports men and women to work so hard to compete for their countries. Every British sports person is hailed as a hero while they are succeeding. They are placed on a pedestal so high that on error, no matter how small can be catastrophic. Their pedestal comes crashing down and they are left feeling publically humiliated by a nation whom probably couldn’t last 90 seconds on a pitch never mind 90 minutes.

While I would never admit that I am a fan of the so called beautiful game, I do understand the amount of training and hard work the Rooney’s, Gerrard’s and Lampard’s of the world put in to represent their country and all we can do is criticise!

They may be getting paid stupid amounts to chase a football around a pitch but they are the best that our country has to offer and we should stand by them no matter what mistakes they make. Britain and its three lions, united as one.

How Embarrassing!

Just in case anyone is wondering, the reason I no longer have any posts on my blog is because I stupidly deleted them all. After mourning the loss of weeks of hard work putting my blog together I have decided it’s time to face up to the fact that I made a stupid mistake and that its time to rebuild my blog.
